Donors can use payment methods saved in digital wallets to donate to your organization. Digital wallets are a way to securely store payment methods on devices for quick use. In Kindful, these payment methods are known as express payment methods.
How can we take advantage of this option?
Donors that have a saved payment method on their devices can give through Apple Pay or Google Pay for a faster, easier donation process. This allows donors to complete donations without having to manually type in payment details every time.
Donors can pay with Apple Pay and Google Pay on Kindful-hosted donation pages, campaign pages, crowdfunding pages, and event pages. Apple Pay and Google Pay are available through Bloomerang Payments only.
Only one express payment method appears, which is based on the donor's browser. Credit card + ACH is still available.
Does this feature work on the donation plugin?
No, Apple Pay and Google Pay are not available through the donation plugin. These payment methods are available on hosted donation pages, campaign pages, crowdfunding pages, and event pages.
What payment gateway do I need to use?
Apple Pay and Google Pay are available through Bloomerang Payments only.
Why don't I see an Apple Pay or Google Pay button? I have Bloomerang Payments connected.
Donors must have Apple Pay or Google Pay enabled and use a supported browser.
This table explains which payment button donors see on your forms.
Device Settings | Payment Button |
Safari with Apple Pay and Apple Wallet enabled | Apple Pay |
Chrome on iOS 16 with Apple Pay and Apple Wallet enabled | Apple Pay |
Chrome with Google Pay enabled | Google Pay |
For detailed information about device requirements, view the Apple Pay documentation and Google Pay documentation.
Are there additional fees for this feature?
No, there are no additional fees! The only fees you will see are the standard processing rates for Bloomerang Payments (2.9% + $.30 for credit cards).
Will these transactions come into Kindful or our bank differently?
No, these will be just like standard online donations received.
