This article is a glossary of terms used within Kindful as it pertains to common terms and menu items.

There are two types of filters in Kindful -- Activity Filters and Contact Filters. Most Contact Filters can be used on either the Contacts page or the Activities page. When used on the Contacts page, it will limit contact results to those matching the criteria. When used on the Activities page, it will display all activities of contacts who meet the criteria. Below is a glossary of these filters.

Note: Any contact custom fields you have imported or created in your Kindful account will appear by name as contact filters, available on either the Contacts page or the Activities page.

 


 

Address Deliverable: Yes/No

Displays contacts whose Address Deliverable communication preference is set to either left checked for "Yes" or left unchecked for "No". 

Age

Displays contacts with the specified age. Age is determined by the Birthday field.

Allows Solicitation: Yes/No

Displays contacts whose Allows Solicitation communication preference is set to either Yes or No.

By Contact Type: Organization

Displays contacts whose type is set to organization. This setting is located in Personal Info.

By Contact Type: Person

Displays contacts whose type is set to person. This setting is located in Personal Info.

By Email

Displays contacts with specified email. Portions of the email can be searched as well (e.g. "@gmail.com").

By Name

Displays contacts with specified name. Portions of the name can be searched, as determined by values present in either First Name or Last Name fields.

By Phone

Displays contacts with a specified phone number. See Search for contacts by phone number.

By Registration Form

Displays contacts who have completed the form you specify, as determined by forms you have created in Contacts & Activities > Forms.

Contacts Created by Import

Displays contacts created by a particular import job, filtered for by using the import job ID found on the Import Data page in Kindful.

Contact Field Present

Displays contacts who (yes) have any value in the specified field, or (no) have no value in the specified field. Fields include:

  • Country

  • Last Name
  • Letter Informal
  • Letter Formal

Contacts Ready for Quickbooks Sync

Displays contacts who are awaiting a Quickbooks sync be kicked off in order to sync.

Contacts Synced to Quickbooks

Displays contacts who have already synced to Quickbooks.

Email Deliverable: Yes/No

Displays contacts whose Email Deliverable communication preference is set to "Yes" or "No".

First Transaction Month After

Displays contacts whose first transaction was after the specified month. Shows contacts whose first transaction was in the specified month.

First Transaction Month/Year

Displays contacts whose first transaction was in the specified month or year.

First Signed In Month/Year

Displays contacts who first signed into their Kindful giving account in the specified month or year.

Gender: Unknown/Male/Female

Displays contacts with the specified gender setting. This is configured in the contact profile in Personal Info.

Group Members Added Since

Displays contacts who have been added to the specified group since the specified date.

Group Members Removed Since

Displays contacts who have been removed from the specified group since the specified date.

Has Account: Yes/No

Displays contacts who have confirmed their email address to create a Kindful giving account.

Has Address: Yes/No Displays contacts with (yes) data in the following address fields: Address 1, City, State/Province, Zip, and Country, or (no) no data in the address field or missing a field of the following:Address 1, City, State/Province, Zip, and Country
Has Email: Yes/No Displays contacts who have (yes) any value in the Email Address field, or (no) no value in the Email Address field.
Has Pledge Coming Due or Past Due Choose Date
Has Pledge With Status Canceled, Completed, Open, Past Due 
Has Recurring Transaction: Yes/No Displays which contacts have a still active recurring transaction.
Has Relation Displays contacts who have the specified relationship type to another contact.
Has Signed In: Yes/No Displays contacts who either have or have not ever signed into their Kindful giving account.
Has Transaction: Yes/No Displays contacts who have (yes) any transaction ever, or (no) no transactions.
Has Transaction in Fiscal Year Displays contacts with any transaction in the specified fiscal year. Fiscal Year is determined by what your account has specified in General Settings.
Has Transaction in Month Displays contacts with any transaction in the specified month.
Has Transaction in Past 12 Calendar Months Displays contacts with any transaction in the past 12 calendar months.
Has Transaction in Year Displays contacts with any transaction in the specified year.
Has Transaction Since Displays contacts with any transaction in or since the specified year.
Household: All/Primary/Dependent Will show contacts with primary, dependent, or either status in a household relationship. Note: contacts not in a relationship (household or otherwise) are considered primary.
In City Displays contacts in the specified city. Note: city is determined by postal code, and country needs to be set for accurate results outside of USA.
In Country Displays contacts in the specified country. Determined by Country field in Personal Info.
Is Archived: Yes/No Displays contacts that are archived or not. The only way to see while searching contacts that have been archived.
In City Displays contacts who live in a particular city, as determined by their postal code.
In State Displays contacts who live in a particular U.S. state, as determined by the selection in the State field.
In Calendar Year, Total Transaction Amount Displays contacts with an exact transaction total amount in the specified year. Two-part filter: first specify the year, then the transaction total amount.
In Calendar Year, Total Transaction Amount Between Displays contacts with a transaction total amount in the specified year between (and including) two amounts. Three-part filter: first specify the year, then the minimum amount, then the maximum amount.
In Calendar Year, Total Transaction Amount Greater Than/Less Than Displays contacts with a transaction total amount in the specified year either greater than or less than the specified amount. Two-part filter: first specify the year, then the amount.
In Country Displays contacts who live in a particular country, as determined by the selection in the Country field.
In Fiscal Year, Total Transaction Amount Displays contacts with an exact transaction total amount in the specified fiscal year. Two-part filter: first specify the year, then the transaction total amount.
In Fiscal Year, Total Transaction Amount Between Displays contacts with a transaction total amount in the specified fiscal year between (and including) two amounts. Three-part filter: first specify the fiscal year, then the minimum amount, then the maximum amount.
In Fiscal Year, Total Transaction Amount More/Less Than Displays contacts whose transaction total amount is more/less than the specified amount in the specified fiscal year. Two-part filter: first specify the fiscal year, then the amount. Note: fiscal year is determined by your settings in General Settings.
In Group Displays contacts contained in the specified group.
In State Displays contacts in the specified state.
Is Archived: Yes/No Displays contacts with archived status set to Yes or No. Note: non-archived contacts will display by defualt.
Is Deceased: Yes/No Displays contacts whose Deceased status is set to either Yes or No.
Join Date Before/After Displays contacts with a join date before or after the date specified.
Join Month Displays contacts with a join date in the specified month.
Join Year Displays contacts with a join date in the specified year.
Largest Gift Found Displays contacts who have a largest gift (transaction + soft credit + non-cash gift) of a particular dollar value.
Largest Transaction Found Displays contacts who have a largest transaction of a particular dollar value.
Lifetime Contribution Amount Displays contacts whose lifetime contributions (transactions + soft credits + non-cash gifts) are equal to the specified amount.
Lifetime Contribution Amount Between Displays contacts whose contributions (transactions + soft credits + non-cash gifts) in the selected calendar year add up to a total that falls between 2 specified numbers (inclusive and accepts values to the penny). Two-part filter: first specify the minimum amount, then the maximum amount.
Lifetime Contribution Amount Greater/Less Than Displays contacts whose contributions (transactions + soft credits + non-cash gifts) total to more/less than the specified amount.
Lifetime Non-Cash Gift Amount Displays contacts whose non-cash gifts add up to exactly a specified amount.
Lifetime Non-Cash Gift Amount Between Displays contacts whose non-cash gifts add up to a total that falls between two specified numbers (inclusive and accepts values to the penny). Two-step filter: first specify the minimum amount, then the maximum amount.
Lifetime Non-Cash Gift Amount Greater/Less Than  Displays all Contacts whose Non-Cash Gifts total to more/less than the specified amount.
Lifetime Soft Credit Amount Displays contacts whose soft credits add up to exactly the specified amount.
Lifetime Soft Credit Amount Between Displays contacts whose soft credits add up to a total that falls between two specified numbers (inclusive and accepts values to the penny). Two-step filter: first specify the minimum amount, then the maximum amount.
Lifetime Soft Credit Amount Greater/Less Than Displays contacts whose soft credits total to more/less than a specified amount.
Lifetime Transaction Amount Displays contacts whose transactions add up to exactly the specified amount.
Lifetime Transaction Amount Between Displays contacts whose transactions add up to a total that falls between two specified numbers (inclusive and accepts values to the penny). Two-step filter: first specify the minimum amount, then the maximum amount.
Lifetime Transaction Amount Greater/Less Than Displays contacts whose transactions total to more/less than a specified amount.
Lifetime Transaction Count Displays contacts whose total number of transactions is exactly the specified number.
Lifetime Transaction Count Between Displays contacts whose total number of transactions is between the specified numbers (inclusive).
Lifetime Transaction Count Greater/Less Than Displays contacts whose total number of transactions is greater/less than the specified number.
LYBUNT Displays contacts who had a transaction within the last calendar year, but not within the current calendar year.
LYBUNT (Fiscal Year) Displays contacts who had a transaction within the last fiscal year, but not within the current fiscal year.
Months Lapsed Displays contacts who do not have a transaction in the specified number of months or greater time period. 
Near Postal

Displays contacts within a range of a specified postal code. This is a two part filter. The first field specifies the postal code, and the second the radius from that postal code.

Older Than Displays contacts older than the specified age. Age is determined by the Birthday field in Personal Info.
Pyramid Last 12 Months

Displays contacts contained in one of the three quadrants of the donor pyramid:

  • Top
  • Middle
  • Bottom
Registered for Event Displays contacts who registered to the specified event.
Starts With Displays contacts whose last name or organization name starts with the specified letter of the alphabet.
SYBUNT Displays contacts who have a transaction in the specified calendar year, but not this calendar year.
SYBUNT (Fiscal Year) Displays contacts who have a transaction in the specified fiscal year, but not this fiscal year.
To Campaign  Displays contacts who have a transaction belonging to the specified campaign.
Top # Displays contacts whose lifetime transaction total place them in the top number of donors (in your list of contacts) you specify.
Top % Displays contacts whose lifetime transaction total place them in the top percentage of donors (in your list of contacts) you specify.
Total Transaction Amount Greater Than X Within

Displays any contacts whose total transactions are more than the specified amount within the specified time range in months. Two-part filter: first specify the dollar amount, then the number of months.  So for example, you could look for contacts that gave more than $1 in the last 12 months.

Upgraded Displays contacts who have given more in the current 12-month period than in the last 12-month period.
With Overdue Manual Recurring Displays contacts with overdue offline recurring transactions. Note: offline recurring transactions are not enabled for all accounts.
With Relationship To Displays contacts with a specified relationship to a specified contact. Two-Part Filter. 
Younger Than Displays contacts younger than the specified age. Age is determined by the Birthday field in Personal Info.
