How to Mark Contacts Based on Whether or Not You Are Mailing Physical Materials to Them
There are existing internal communication preferences on a contact profile including "address deliverable" and "address deliverable reason" that help track this.
A recommended option here would be custom contact fields. These live on the profile and are always exportable. If you create these as a certain type, like "select" or "multi-select", these can be used for filtering as well.
How to Stop Contacts From Receiving Print Mailings or Emails From Your Organization.
Unchecking the Billing Acknowledgements opt in from the Preferences section of a Contact Profile would remove them from receiving physical mailers.
If you want to remove them from receiving email acknowledgements, you would need to uncheck the allows solicitation checkbox.
Of Note: If a contact is already appearing in an Acknowledgements list for a physical letter and you uncheck the billing Acknowledgements opt in, you would then need to go and refresh the Acknowledgement List again to get that contact removed. Once a change is made to a profile, you have to refresh the Acknowledgement Lists to see the changes that have been made.
