Overview
To keep your database clean and easy to manage, you can archive contacts. You might do this if you prefer not to delete the donor because they have interactions or transactions, and you want to retain that data as part of your organization's history.
You can also unarchive contacts that you previously archived.
Archive Contacts
To archive contacts:
- On the Contacts page, select the contacts to archive:
- To select individual contacts, select the checkbox on the contact profile.
- To bulk select all contacts, click Select All from the navigation menu on the right.
- Click Bulk Edit.
The Bulk Edit dialog box appears. - From the Field to Update drop-down list, select Is Archive.
- From the Set Is Archived drop-down list, select Yes.
- Click Save.
Unarchive Contacts
To unarchive individual contacts:
- On the Contacts page, in the Current View box, add the filter Is Archived: Yes.
- Click to open the contact profile you want to unarchive.
- Click the Profile tab.
- At the bottom of the page, click Unarchive This Contact.
- To confirm, click Unarchive.
To unarchive contacts in bulk:
- On the Contacts page, in the Current View box, add the filter Is Archived: Yes.
- From the navigation menu at the right, click Select All.
- Click Bulk Edit.
The Bulk Edit dialog box appears. - From the Field to Update drop-down list, select Is Archive.
- From the Set Is Archived drop-down list, select No.
- Click Save.
Note: If an archived contact makes an online contribution through a Kindful Donation Page, Plugin, or Event, using the same confirmed credentials that exist on their archived record, Kindful automatically unarchives the contact.
