Of Note: This process may be easiest if you make a small donation to your campaign first, so you have donation data to test.

Getting Started

Log into your CauseVox account. If you don’t already have access to the Zapier beta in CauseVox, email support@causevox.com to request access. CauseVox will send along an invite link to the CauseVox and Zapier integration.

Accepting the Invite

Once you have the invite link, navigate to the invite and select “Login to Accept Invite”. If you don’t already have a Zapier account, you’ll want to select “Sign Up to Accept Invite”.

Setting the Trigger

Choose a trigger for the information you’d like pushed into Kindful. You can choose between:

  • New Fundraiser- Triggers when a fundraiser joins a campaign
  • New Donation- Triggers when a new donation is created/received

Link Your CauseVox Account

Select your CauseVox account. If you’re not already logged in to CauseVox, you’ll be prompted to login.

Choose the CauseVox Campaign

Select the CauseVox campaign for which you’d like to set up this trigger. The transactions from this Campaign will be able to sync into Kindful.

Run a Test (Optional)

Now that your campaign is selected, you can run a quick test to see if the data is pulling from CauseVox by selecting “Fetch & Continue,” or you can skip this step.

Once completed, you should see a “Test Successful” notification. Then, click continue.

Connecting to Kindful

When completed, the CauseVox and Zapier integration should be completed. Now, you need to add an action step to push the data into Kindful. Select the link that reads “Your Zap currently lacks an action step. Add one now!”

Setting Up Zapier With Kindful

Be sure you receive the invite link from Kindful and login to accept the invite in another window.

Once logged in, accept the invite to build a Zap.

Continue building out your Zap you started from CauseVox and select Kindful from the applications listing. You may need to refresh the page first for Kindful to appear in the listing.

Select your Kindful account. You’ll be prompted to login and give access to Zapier.

Select Trigger Actions - Create or Update Person Contact

Select which action you’d like to trigger. For a new donation, you will most likely want to select “Create or Update Person Contact.”

On the next page, you’ll have the opportunity to edit your template to map the fields. This will control which sections the CauseVox data will be automatically placed into in Kindful.

If you’re creating a new contact from a new donation, the following are the fields you’ll likely enter in for the respective sections:

  • Update Existing Record if Found: yes
  • Source Name : {select your campaign title}

  • Date updated: {select date of donation}
