What Crowdrise data can be reported into Kindful?
- Team Members
- Transactions with transaction comments (imported as notes on that Transaction)
- Contacts (Donors and Team Members)
- For donors, we pull in email, address, and phone (if available).
- For team members, we are only supplied with the name
How to Connect
Only Charity Type Crowdrise Accounts work for this integration. Individual or donor accounts will not work. Go to Settings, then Integrations. You’ll see a Crowdrise section. Select “Connect to Crowdrise”.
Login to your Crowdrise Charity Account.
After logging in to your Crowdrise Charity Account select “Grant Access”.If you don’t have a Crowdrise Charity Account, you’ll need to create one in order to continue.
After selecting Grant Access, you’ll arrive at the Crowdrise Settings. Now, you will select the Kindful Fund that Crowdrise Transactions will be mapped to in Kindful.
To Import Historical Crowdrise Donors, Team Members, Teams and Events data, select Import History (recommended).
Before you save the settings... Understand what happens when you connect Crowdrise to Kindful:
With a Crowdrise Charity account, you can receive donations in 3 ways:
- Donations made directly to your charity.
- Donations made to independent Teams. These are not associated with an Event.
- Donations made to Teams associated with an Event.
When connected, the Kindful-Crowdrise integration will create new Campaigns. You will assign these Campaigns to the Fund of your choice.
Any Event transactions go to a newly created Campaign a Campaign called " Crowdrise Event: <Event Name>" so you can easily find transactions that are made to an Event on Crowdrise.
If your account has transactions from teams that belong to an Event on Crowdrise they will be imported to a newly created Campaign called, Crowdrise Event: <Event Name> where <Event Name> is the name of the Event.
For example, if you have an Event on Crowdrise, “5K for Hope” with teams and transactions, we will create a Campaign in Kindful, “Crowdrise Event: 5K for Hope”.
If there are no transactions that belong to an Event, this Campaign is not created. If there are multiple Events we will create Multiple Campaigns in Kindful (one campaign per Event). These Event Campaigns will belong to the Fund you select in the Crowdrise Settings.
Independent Team Transactions
All non-event Team transactions will go to a newly created Campaign called, "Crowdrise: Independent Teams" so that you can easily find transactions that are through a team but not an Event. If transactions are imported but do not belong to an independent team, the campaign is not created. This Campaign will belong to the Fund selected in Crowdrise Settings.
All non-event, non-Team transactions will go to a newly created Campaign called "Crowdrise: Direct-to-Charity Transactions" so that you can easily find transactions that are made directly to your Charity on Crowdrise.
If your Crowdrise account has transactions that are made directly to my Charity on Crowdrise and not through a team, they are imported to a newly created Campaign called, "Crowdrise: Direct-to-Charity Transactions". This Campaign will belong to the Fund selected in Crowdrise Settings.
Once you click Save, it will take some time for Kindful to pull in your data if the “Import History” option is selected. You will eventually see Crowdrise Contacts & Transactions in the "Contacts" and "Activities" sections of Kindful. After this, new transactions and contacts will sync every hour.
Viewing & Reporting Crowdrise Data in Kindful
View All Crowdrise Contacts (Team Members & Donors)
To view All Crowdrise Contact Records in Kindful, go to Contacts, Saved Searches, and select the filter in the Recommended Searches box: Crowdrise Contacts.
View All Crowdrise Transactions
To view All Crowdrise Transactions in Kindful, go to Activities, Saved Searches, and select the filter in the Recommended Searches box: Crowdrise Activities.
View Transactions by Crowdrise Team
To filter Transactions by Crowdrise Team on the Activities Page use "By Team: <Team_Name> to filter all Activities by the selected Team.
View Transactions by Crowdrise Team Member
To filter Transactions by Crowdrise Team on the Activities Page use "By Team Member: <Team_Member_Name> to filter all Activities by the selected Team.
Viewing Transactions on a Team Member’s Profile
Navigate to the Team Member’s Contact Profile and view the contribution summary in the Crowdfunding Widget.
Crowdrise Integration FAQ
Why does a transaction show a higher amount in Kindful compared to Crowdrise?
Kindful displays the gross transaction total. It’s important for you to see the gross transaction in Kindful because that is the total amount your donor gave and therefore has tax implications.
Crowdrise displays a “donation amount”. That donation amount might be the gross donation (if the donor did not elect to cover your Crowdrise fees) or it might be a net amount (if the donor elected to cover your Crowdrise fees).
In order to know what your net transaction is from Crowdrise, please view the transaction in Crowdrise.
Kindful imports transactions processed through Crowdrise as Credit. Transactions manually entered into Crowdrise are imported to Kindful as Cash.
If you want to disconnect your Crowdrise account from Kindful, go to to Settings, Integrations, Crowdrise Settings. Click Disconnect. All Crowdrise teams, transactions, Contacts, and records that were imported will remain in the Organization account, but new transactions and contacts will not sync from Crowdrise.
