CrowdRise: Overview, Connecting, & Viewing

This article explains connection and viewing details for the CrowdRise integration. Structure for this article is as follows: what types of data can be synced to Kindful, connecting CrowdRise to Kindful, viewing CrowdRise data in Kindful.

Before you begin

CrowdRise features don't directly coincide with Kindful's, so some features within CrowdRise don't directly equate to those in Kindful. The way these are imported and mapped is outlined later on in this article.

Below are the types of records that Kindful can import from CrowdRise:

  • Events
  • Teams/Fundraisers
  • Team Members – name only
  • Transactions with transaction comments (imported as a note on that transaction)
  • Donors – email, address, and phone (if available)

Finally, only Charity CrowdRise accounts work for this integration. Individual or Donor accounts will not work.

Connecting CrowdRise to Kindful

In Kindful, go to Apps on the left. You’ll see CrowdRise on the list. Select Learn More, then Connect.

Important to understand before pressing save

With a CrowdRise Charity account, you can receive donations in 3 ways:

  • Donations made directly to your charity.
  • Donations made to independent Teams, not associated with an Event.
  • Donations made to Teams associated with an Event.

When connected, the Kindful-CrowdRise integration will create new Campaigns. You will assign these Campaigns to the Fund of your choice.

EVENT TRANSACTIONS

Any Event transactions go to a newly created Campaign called CrowdRise Event: [Event Name] so you can easily find transactions that are made to a CrowdRise Event.

If your account has transactions from teams that belong to an Event on CrowdRise, they'll be imported to a newly created Campaign called CrowdRise Event: [Event Name] where [Event Name] is the name of the Event.

For example: If you have an Event on CrowdRise, titled 5K for Hope with teams and transactions, Kindful will create a Campaign titled, CrowdRise Event: 5K for Hope.

If there are no transactions that belong to an Event, this Campaign is not created. If there are multiple Events, Kindful will create multiple Campaigns in Kindful (one campaign per Event).

These Event Campaigns will belong to the Fund you select in the CrowdRise Settings.

INDEPENDENT TEAM TRANSACTIONS

All non-Event Team transactions will go to a newly created Campaign called CrowdRise: Independent Teams so you can easily find transactions from a Team, separate from an Event. If transactions are imported but do not belong to an independent team, the campaign is not created.

This Campaign will belong to the Fund selected in CrowdRise Settings.

DIRECT-TO-CHARITY TRANSACTIONS

All non-Event, non-Team transactions will go to a newly created Campaign called CrowdRise: Direct-to-Charity Transactions so you can easily find transactions that were made directly to your charity on CrowdRise.

If your CrowdRise account has transactions that are made directly to a\your Charity on CrowdRise and not through a Team, they are imported to a newly created Campaign called CrowdRise: Direct-to-Charity Transactions.

This Campaign will belong to the Fund selected in CrowdRise Settings.

Ready to press "Save"

Once you click Save, it will take some time for Kindful to pull in your data if the Import History option is selected. You'll eventually see CrowdRise Contacts & Transactions in the Contacts and Activities sections of Kindful.

After this, new transactions and contacts will sync every hour.
